How are you coming along with your Carnival costumes? Are you making progress?
Today, I’m working on a new project: a pirate hat made entirely out of cardboard!
The Pirate Hat
To create the pirate hat, you’ll need a large black cardboard sheet, white paper, a stapler, and glue stick.
First, measure your child’s head. The hat needs to be custom-made, so the cardboard should be large enough. The two pieces of the hat must cover the entire circumference of the head. Each piece should make up half of the hat.
Take the black cardboard and draw the outline of the hat with its three points. Create a second identical piece by tracing the first one. Cut out both pieces.
Search online for a skull and crossbones template, then trace it onto white paper and cut it out.
Glue the skull and crossbones to one of the hat pieces using the glue stick.
Place the two pieces of the hat together and staple them at the sides to secure them.
The hat is now ready to wear and perfect for celebrating Carnival!

Besides the hat, I can also suggest a vest made of black felt, decorated with gold trim. You can find an older tutorial of mine here:
